I agree, if the leaders have the right mindset. If they have the wrong mindset OKRs can become another way to top-down handout work, repeating the mistake @nick.jenkins described.

Pierre Donyegro11:06:03

I am Pierre Donyegro and my question is how do you get leadership to buy in if DevOps is starting from the ground up and is Agile really Agile?

@pdonyeg: What are the problems the leadership care about? If DevOps/Agile doesnā€™t help with those problemsā€¦ should they buy-in?

Buy them all a copy of @genek101 Projects - l tell them itā€™s like ā€œchick-lit for DevOpsā€ then show them the reports from the unicorns. Lastly/firstly are they a real leadership TEAM complete with Psychological Safety and goodwill to GSD?

Great and thank you all for the feedback. Next Question: how do you get leadership to fund DevOps or include DevOps projects Budget if the DevOps initiative started from the bottom Up? and What comes First? Cultural transformation, technical Transformation or Financial Transformation?

Really like your article https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/time-ditch-agile-transformations-duena-blomstrom "As compared to the State of DevOps - The State of Agile reports are much more doom and gloom."

Pierre Donyegro12:06:24

Which is easier to implement? DevOps from the bottom up or Top-Down? quite often, leadership or top management or even middle management have other priorities. Everyone may speak DevOps but not really practicing it. Somewhere lies a bottle-neck when it comes to implementation. I am curious to what others have done to address the issue.

I really like the writings by Steve Denning. He write about agile for people without a software background, for strategic leaders etc. He publish articles on Forbes and in books like The Age of Agile, Storytelling etc https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevedenning/#680fdbb41b2d
