Trying to watch via https://doesvirtual.com/watch and there is an error message. Anyone else have this issue?

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff09:05:42

@michael.kalbermatter still having the issue?

Michael Kalbermatter09:05:41

I'm watching on my ipad now. Its ok. On notebook with chrome its not working. I cleaned all cookies. The error is ERR_INVALID_HANDLE

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff09:05:48

We had someone else with a similar issue, and it was their company VPN.

Michael Kalbermatter10:05:05

With company vpn it worked just without not. Thx for your support

Moira Cheng09:05:52

"It looks like the webpage at https://does-player.gaiwan.co/index.html? might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff09:05:33

Are you able to see other pages of the conference? http://doesvirtual.com/games for example?

Moira Cheng09:05:01

Yes that works 🙂

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff09:05:14

And then when you click WATCH from there, same issue?

Moira Cheng09:05:51

same thing happens - error message 😞

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff09:05:08

Moira Cheng09:05:23

@michael.kalbermatter has the same issue @alex in #summit-help

Mitesh (DOES Event Staff / Engineer at Gaiwan)09:05:39

@moira.cheng could you please try and use Google chrome if possible, while we try to reproduce this?

Alex Ryan Burnett09:05:34

I had a similar issue, but found that my companies content filter was blocking it (as I was on our VPN). I disconnected and it worked perfectly 🙂

Mário Correia10:05:21

On watch I receive this error "It looks like the webpage at https://does-player.gaiwan.co/index.html? might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address." Anyone can help with this ?

jeff.gallimore (CTIO - Excella, he/him)10:05:03

@mario.r.correia other people were having this problem until they turned off their company’s vpn. that resolved the issue.@alex

Margueritte Kim (CEO, IT Revolution, she/her)10:05:32

Also @mario.r.correia, try this link and follow the advice re: your company’s VPN. https://doesvirtual.com/watch

Mário Correia10:05:25

Thanks, confirmed with other college and without VPN it works, will see post saved

Katharine Chajka (Tasktop)12:05:11

I read somewhere about the ability to share presentations with those who did not attend the conference - is that true?

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff12:05:39

@katharine.chajka Yep! The video library is open to anyone - they just need to enter their email address to set up their account: https://videolibrary.doesvirtual.com/

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff12:05:51

You can share links directly to individual videos, too.

Dave Reed (bp Product Manager)12:05:09

folks your extended break - panel, we can hear set up discussions and the background music playing over the speakers

1
jeff.gallimore (CTIO - Excella, he/him)12:05:51

thanks for the heads up. we’re looking into the audio issue with that.

Dave Reed (bp Product Manager)12:05:08

track works ok,it's just the other tracks

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff13:05:38

We just really want all to hear the show on track 4!

Helen Beal12:05:43

Helen Beal12:05:05

Hi folks is there somewhere we can download slide packs for the presentations please?

Eduardo Hans14:05:08

Anyone having issues with accessing #birds-of-a-feather?

Ann Perry - IT Revolution14:05:00

Hi Eduardo – are you in Gather?

Kim Wallis14:05:36

Channel is empty for me as well, not sure if there is supposed to be something there? 😬

Eduardo Hans14:05:19

my bad, I was trying to get to #lean-coffee 😄

Bob Fischer15:05:08

A minor bit of feedback. The Sched platform seems to reset my time zone back to UK pretty often. Don't know why. Seems like it should be sticky. I guess I could get better at O'clock addition...

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff15:05:59

Great feedback. Is it when you close the window, or just arbitrarily?

Margueritte Kim (CEO, IT Revolution, she/her)15:05:28

Yes, great feedback that we can send to Sched for sure. It’s unfortunately outside our control as users. 😞

Bob Fischer16:05:30

I can't figure out what does it.

Bob Fischer16:05:53

Just have set the timezone about 10 times today

Kim Wallis16:05:22

Timezone is a part of the URL, so if you use some bookmark or something, I guess that could reset it  (although for me it does stick, even when going to the original url)

Saket Kulkarni, Coach, Capgemini (he/him)16:05:07

Question: Is there a possibility to add a zone/section to the Gather space (doesn’t have to be a separate room)? I ask as I brought up a question with Gene in General about how to do conference photos this year, and I was thinking we might be able to set up some sort of “photo booth”. 😁 (Still an idea in progress)

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff16:05:42

Very interesting! Thinking it’d be a framed area focused on avatars and video?

Saket Kulkarni, Coach, Capgemini (he/him)16:05:31

Yeah. Gather already automatically pops up peoples video feeds. It’d be a little artificial, but we could take a screen shot as a sort of ‘group photo’?

Saket Kulkarni, Coach, Capgemini (he/him)16:05:13

People could cluster there to take photos with each other. Maybe there are some other creative ideas to make it better?

Bob Fischer16:05:03

Is this presentation on GitHub?

Bob Fischer16:05:09

OK, so the slide images won't be there, but the video will.

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff16:05:25

There’s a slides link on the right next to the title

Bob Fischer16:05:04

Thanks. I must have GitHub blindness.

Alex Broderick-Forster, IT Revolution, Event Staff16:05:07

Any slides we have available will have that button

Bob Fischer16:05:16

Thanks Alex.

Bob Fischer16:05:10

Can't find it.

Michael Bird - Senior Architect, UPMC17:05:26

Just some feedback overall for future, at least my opinion. Love the sessions so far by the way. Even though this is virtual and you don't have to run between rooms, it would be nice if there was a bit of time between each session to allow what you heard to sink in, catch a bio break, get a drink, ... without missing part of your next session.

jeff.gallimore (CTIO - Excella, he/him)18:05:55

@birdmr thanks for that perspective. it’s a constant struggle to find the right balance of number of breaks, break length, more programming, start/end times, … what format have you found that works for you, at least in terms of time between talks?

Michael Bird - Senior Architect, UPMC18:05:58

With meetings at work, now that everyone is virtual, we are recommending 5 minutes for a meeting of 30 minutes, 10 for an hour meeting, 15 for longer. Having a few minutes to digest what you just heard before jumping into the next mind shift certainly seems helpful.

thankyou 1
Saket Kulkarni, Coach, Capgemini (he/him)18:05:23

I agree. I’ve booked my day full as I try to make use of the opportunity to sponge up as much knowledge as I can, but a 5 minute break between talks would already be very helpful.

Gene Kim, ITREV, Program Chair20:05:12

(We did have one today, but we had to delete it because some of the talks [including my own] went a little long.) I think tomorrow, the 5m break survived — at least, at the time of this writing. 🙂 PS: Thx for the note — I’ve been debating @annp and @jeff.gallimore whether the 5m break would even be noticed or appreciated!

Kavleen - Product Specialist17:05:28

What is the link for happy hour at snyk?
