@genek do you still have the sales trend for The Phoenix Project? It's not a perfect parallel of course but if you far exceed that, at a higher velocity, even with the amazing deal you are offering you might hit break even faster than you think

I am a tech lead in a large financial company that supports our legal & compliance, hr, corporate real estate, security and aviation functions. I have been tasked with “helping our dev teams with their DevOps journeys.” 90% of our applications are SaaS or packaged. The 10% we developed are well on their way to the cloud and we are building out a test automation suite. Our customers are a wide array of business people within our organization. Our business has no complaints about our delivery speed (generally once/week deployments). Our solution teams are challenged with trying to understand how to apply DevOps to mostly SaaS solutions. In addition, a DevOps journey template has been created for all teams across our company, with specific tools you need to implement at “Base Camp”, practices to adopt at “North Camp”, and advanced practices to reach “Summit”. Our scrum masters have been tasked with reporting %complete on each. While there is some room for interpretation of the template by the teams, this template (checklist) doesn’t feel like it fits /applies for many of the items. I don’t believe our teams are motivated to embark on a DevOps journey when: -the journey is not their own (checklist approach) -lack of understanding of how to apply DevOps in a SaaS world -customers are not demanding improved speed or quality (that we know of) So...how do I help our dev teams with their DevOps journeys in this scenario?

<!here> You may have heard that a number of speakers and thought leaders get together once a year to write papers and provide guidance to the DevOps Enterprise community. If you caught Ross Clanton’s talk he covered one of the papers from 2019. As an experiment we’d love to hear from you ... what topics do YOU want the forum to provide guidance on? Add your topic to #forum-topics and give it a thumbs up. Prior papers here : https://itrevolution.com/forum-papers/

Smashing Sumit I must say. Pardon the Long post ahead..,🌝 The Summit overall organization and engagements with delegate are no doubt top notch. However I was thinking of few cool ideas that could make the delegates engagements and experience even more lean and Agile. Eh we are talking DevOps here 🌝 1: Number one, through our interactions with delegates, first questions we usually ask is which country is your company or you coming from? Depeding on the number of your engagements, you could get hundred of different interestingly countries, which is obviously very hard to track and remember. I for one met people from Columbia, Israel, Canada,etc..I felt,Hmm that's interesting, coming all the way from Israel. Now thinking, it must be interesting to see in one picture or board which countries the delegates attended from. This would bring us to the concept of introducing Digital Push Pin Map. We all probably have push pin map boards in our offices and homes. This is for the summit event planners or Summit App admins to think about. @genek, @jeff.gallimore the idea is to introduce a digital Push Pin Map as one of the menus under the more tab on the Summit App or other ways to achieve this. With that, delegates can digitaly pin their countries, and if it could be more Agile Engineered, the map would be interactive and dynamic to include the organization's name, state and the country for delegates to pin. This is just a thought, which I think would be super cool to implement,if there's nothing like this already.I searched but didn't see. I have some cool ideas on this , if the event planners or Summit App admins needs to relate more, you can ping me. 2: Secondly, as a form of suggestion, thinking it would be cool to have a suggestion-box slack channel. Here delegates can post suggestions that could improve the Summit, the community, etc. Example of such suggestions could be for Gene to give delegates a 30 to 40% Chance to nominate or suggest on industries or key personnel out of number of possible tentative presenters they would like to be invited for the summit. There are tons of presenter's eager to be on this stage, as such Delegates could make your decision, @genek This way,the delegates could feel the sense of being a closer part of the summit success, rather than just just consumers of the the Summit. There could be litany of suggestions, so the need to have a #suggestion-box slack channel,I think would be super cool. Upvote <!here> if you would like these ideas to be implemented. Otherwise, excellent job Gene Kim and all the IT Revolution crew for the marvelous opportunity to come Together to go Faster.

coffelt23:10:59
