What might be the right bof group to share this topic (maybe bof-next-gen-ops)? I live in an "old" world of split responsibilities between Dev and Ops. Is there some practical recommendation for this "old world" coming from "new DevOps" world how improve alignment between Dev and Ops on future technology stack? Developers surprisingly have sometimes different preference as operation 🙂.

While, organizationally, we're often split up into buckets labeled Dev or Ops, we are all nerds that started out loving technology and eventually found ourselves employed as one or the other. The reality is that we are all people, and people are passionate and opinionated. Additionally, people are often skewed to defend or promote what they find familiar...because change is hard and scary. If what you are seeking is alignment, start with a vision...your "why". That is how you get alignment. There are a million "hows" that will be fought over along the way, but if everyone is directing their passion towards the why, then the hows (technology) will come more easily. Guide conversations around technical direction based on facts, not opinions.
